Getting through the backlog

I'm currently flying through the dwarfs although I suspect that will change once I have to start painting again.

I've successfully rebased the unit of great weapon dwarfs along with the BSB. The only challenge I came across was painting up a banner for the unit. The original idea was to have a dragon head banner with maybe some Celtic knots coming out the back of it, this was quickly cut back to just a dragon head then just some squares. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy with it but I wanted so much more. The plus side is I don't have to think too hard about what I'll paint the other units banner as, having a matching pair should look good.

As dragon head banners go it's fine. Maybe if I added some more shadows and highlights it would look better. In truth I spent most of the evening drawing it out trying to get it looking right then badly painting it. The checker banner also had it's problems but luckily wasn't reliant on my drawing skills so it turned out fine. The bad news is I still have three character banners to go so that's something to look forward to.

As a reminder, the BSB has a Bob Ross style depiction of the valley my dwarfs live in. I actually enjoyed painting this one but hope to never do it again.

Iron breakers featuring a far more sensible banner. Not much to say about these guys just a unit of hardcore dwarfs. With any luck I should get painting again soon although I may branch out from dwarfs for Halloween, I've got until January so that's plenty time right?

Thanks for reading.

    1. I've never been able to get the snottling with a saw to finish him off. The whole dwarf range is full of classics lots of fun to paint up.

    2. The pair of them are on ebay at the moment, but not sure what your budget is?

    3. Bit too expensive for me! I've learned to avoid eBay most of the time night shifts and bidding are an expensive combination.
