Hive scum

 

I've always loved this mini but it's very rare that a necromunda mini isn't amazing. How'd this looser get a working plasma pistol? I started this guy a few weeks ago before starting the big clear out so I'm a little hazy on how things went. 

I wanted to use the John Blanche paints from the army painter so I think that's where I started, the voodoo shade is great I'll be using that a lot in future. What I really wanted to do though was test out a colour scheme for Horus heresy Word Bearers using the red and green with a light coloured base. I think it works and I'm happy with how the plasma turned out, will I ever get round to painting any? Who knows and right now I need to crack on with old world stuff after my little painting break.

As much as I hate flat pack furniture the new painting set up is great. I've fitted some lights and it's got plenty of storage but the best bit is I can shut the doors and my mess is hidden. 

It also doubles as a photography studio which is handy but I'm sure the colours come out better without the base and backdrop. As always photos are an area for improvement but they are getting better and I'm sure with the next gen of phones and AI doing all the hard work I'll be getting studio quality in no time, until judgement day that is.

Still quite a bit of painting to get done before the next event but not much chance of that getting done while the sun's out. Might as well enjoy it while it's here.
