Prince Ulther dragon standard
I'm flying through these now and also getting burnt out doing it. I'm back to work later today which will rudely cut into my painting time but I think I need that for my sanity. Not much to say about him. Pretty straightforward paint job and the banner was kept simple following the same style as the other banner bearer I have. I'm happy with him but might need to lay down some matt medium on the banner to knock back the shine. I always used to matt varnish my minis but I've been using satin lately.
There were nine more minis to paint but I think I'll swap in some others meaning I'll only have the engineer and maybe one other to do. I decided on having Oxy O'Cetylene as the engineer he's a great mini and should be quick to paint. As for the possibility of a second dwarf I'm trying to decide between a drunk dwarf or queen Helgar. Maybe a few days away from the painting desk will inspire me to crack on with them but I'm not putting any pressure on myself.
Thanks for reading.

All good, why did you start with satin?
ReplyDeleteThe matt dulled the metallics too much. I used to do a satin coat then matt any areas of cloth and skin but that seems like to much hassle now. Every now and then I see a glossy beard and think I should do something about it.
DeleteAh, rather than satin then matt, matt with satin for metal seems quicker, and possibly better?
