4 weeks to the old world

 Some real progress this week as the road wardens are finally mounted on their mighty steeds. Both units are finished other than the champions and the bases which will need a lot of drying time. The champions have a ribbon attached to their sword gun things and their great coats still to be painted which I've decided to paint purple and green respectively. I probably could have got them done but I wasn't happy with how the horses manes and tails turned out. I mixed together the lightest bone colours from army painter and two thin coats to get the colour and coverage I was after then highlighted them up. They look a lot better to me so it was time well spent. The end is in sight as once these are out the way I only have 3 characters to go.

The empire really needs to invest more in those sword guns. I'd love a unit of swordsmen that got a stand and shoot charge reaction guess they would be rather unwealdly though. I still haven't finalised my list for the event and keep thinking about adding in a 10 man detachment to the swordsmen or would I be better off putting more points into the characters? I modelled my general with a great weapon but would he be better with an ogre blade? I'll wait until the pack is out and decide then.
