The new year 2025
Well it's been a slow year but looking back at what I got done I'm quite pleased with myself. Definitely a quality over quantity situation and all minis that I wanted to paint.
I'd have a hard time picking what my favourite of the year would be although I really enjoyed the fallout raiders faction. Something very different from what I'm used to but great fun to paint up I even got a couple of rad-scorpions but so far I've only gotten them built. I also have to give a special mention to the marauder giant which is hobby goal achievement, I'm looking forward to seeing what other classic minis GW are going to release.
Looking back at last year's post I haven't finished any of the minis I was working on at the time. I've no idea where the time went or why they got pushed aside so hopefully I'll get back to them at some point. Another common theme from last year is that once again I'm at work although the terrible life destroying rota is now coming to an end. With the changes coming I'd like to go back to posting on here on a regular basis I really think it helped motivate me to get stuff done.
I still haven't got any games in (another victim of my work/life balance) but there is an old world event coming up in March which I'm hoping to get to, a quick victory for the new rota! Sadly despite all the painting I do it has little to no focus so a fully painted army is still missing from my life. I think my best bet is to try and finish my empire army which already has 40 swordsman, 12 knights and a steamtank already painted. That means I'll only have to paint 20 minis for a fully painted force and yes one of those would be a war wagon but I'm nothing if not.....I'm sure it will be fine.
A nice surprise at the end of the year was a return of the Realm of chaos 80s blog which was incredibly inspiring to me when I was getting back into the hobby. Seeing it's unique style again I was reminded of another unfinished mini sat in my painting desk. I had bought an old witch elf back when he was trying out an oldhammer book club. I'd completely missed out on the books when I was younger and found them very enjoyable so I thought painting a mini from the story would be a good idea. That was over 9 years ago. I'm hopeful that I can get her finished now so expect that to be the next post very soon. Maybe I could paint a dark elf army by March.
I also rescued a rabbit that had been dumped at the beach. His name's Bailey.
Thanks for reading and have happy new year.
