Re-won't take that long-basing

 There's an old world event in January I've signed up for so it's finely time to re-base the dwarfs. While sticking with the empire might be a better idea, I am learning, it's time the stunties got an outing. I was waiting until I had some finished before posting but that's taking longer than I expected so here's a break down of what I plan on taking.

Dwarf king in a unit 20 warriors with shields

Not technically a king shield bearers but I think he should do the job. Some of the dwarfs painting are starting to show their age, I'm fighting the urge to repaint them.

Thane BSB in a unit of 17 great weapon warriors 

The BSB has the master rune of Grungni to add some protection. I've only painted two banners so I may try to do something better. I originally wanted to do a Bob Ross style painting of the valley the dwarfs live in but it wasn't easy. Not sure I could do better now but I might give it a go.

The great weapon dwarfs also have some random figures in there I may move them around at some point.

Runesmith 

I was thinking about putting the runelord in with the ironbreakers or the rangers. Keeping him on his own though might be the better option keeping him out of combat and free to dispel.

Engineer 

An Engineer kitted out for shooting the question is which one? Very old shooting dwarf, quite old engineer dwarf or a modern mix of both? The dwarf with no name may be a touch on the small side, Oxy is my preference at the moment and the modern model would be great as well and the newest model in the army. I'll probably paint all three then decide. 

14 Rangers

My favourite unit ever made I love these little guys. This was the first banner I ever painted and I don't think I would change it. I have two of the flat helmet dudes the other one is unpainted.

Gyrocopter 

I've decided against using a flying stand on the gyro opting instead for some brass rod. I did briefly think about using a resin tree as a stand but I couldn't find it and then went off the idea. I think it will look better without it.

Grudge thrower

For throwing grudges. I always thought it was a rock lobber but I guess that was just for green skins.

Cannon

While the cannon only has three crew my one has four. It needs to have the guy lighting it but for game play purposes I think it needs the three crew bases. Rather than explain why there are only two the fourth crew man is now just decoration. Lucky I had some spare cannon crew.

18 Iron breakers

For breaking iron and faces. While my empire army has some tricks and strategies a better player could use my dwarfs are going to march forward and kill everything. At least that's the theory I'll wait and see how well that works for me.

And that's what I have planned still some painting to do and a lot of bases but should be very achievable. I also remembered I've painted three banners, Grom the paunch owning the third.

In real life news I always write here with my phone which has become something of a nightmare. The irritation of using blogger is starting to outweigh the fun. I'll stick with it for now and maybe try copy and paste from another app but writing this was incredibly tedious. Hopefully trying something new will make posting fun again.
