Blood bowl skaven week 5

I know I said something similar last week but the starting 6 are more or less done. So what’s left to do? Originally I would only have the bases to rim but I really couldn’t bring myself round to them this morning preferring to have a coffee while watching tv before skulking off to bed. There are a few other jobs I want to get to before calling them done. The white on the shoulder pad doesn’t stand out like the green so I’m thinking a pure white highlight might be needed along with another highlight on the face. The crackle paint should have been dry brushed before I fixed it in place with varnish  so I’m not sure what to do about it whether I try it anyway or slap on a wash either way I think the varnish has removed any definition. I’ll try it out on a test base tomorrow. I’ve also ordered some liquid pigment from green stuff world to try out and the skaven will be perfect candidates for some weathering. I already own some powder which I’ve used a few times but it’s messy and bit of a hassle to use so hopefully the liquid kind will make life easier.

The next 6 were started but other matters took over before I got the first mini done. Some of the colour choices are proving to be a problem on the throwers and gutter runners. The throwers don’t really have an area I can add the purple to so I’m thinking of using the rings on the tail or the chest plate to tie them in. The gutter runners will have a green and white check on the inside of their cloaks but I’m struggling with the loin cloth and vest. The vest seems to be an extension of the cloak so I was planning on painting them both black but that would make the loin cloth look out of place as it should be white to match the rest of the team. The cloak may balance it out or I could make the loin cloth black as well but I not too happy about that. Other than that I’ve started on Abaddon, primed a Stegadon and work has been bit of a carry on I’m also wondering how I’m going to make a clipboard for the coach. Stay safe out there.

Thanks for reading.
